Ken Brown has spent his career serving people. After graduating from college with a degree in business and a concentration in finance, Ken spent two years working with Household Financial Services in Chesapeake, Virginia. Much of his focus was debt counseling and helping families properly budget to meet their goals.
It was through volunteering with local middle and high school students that Ken felt the pull toward pastoral ministry. After completing a Masters of Divinity in 1997, Ken spent the better part of 17 years in pastoral ministry both in Virginia and here in the Bay area.
Ken has also worked with Contra Costa Christian School teaching ethics and comparative religions, serving as the high school athletic director and coaching, and serving as the director of community relations.
Ken and his wife Amy have lived in Contra Costa County for the better part of two decades. They are the proud parents of four adult children — Andrew together with his wife Samantha, Emily, Kristin, and Annie. In his spare time Ken enjoys hiking and has walked the Camino de Santiago in Spain. He continues to learn Spanish, loves watching Cal State Monterey Bay women’s soccer where his daughter plays, and can regularly be seen hanging with friends in local coffee shops. At the top of his bucket list is becoming fluent in Spanish and thru-hiking the Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada.
Ken counts it a privilege to continue serving people and helping them through one of the biggest decisions of life — buying or selling a home, and working with the great team of people at Abio Properties makes it possible to provide his clients with the highest level of service available in Contra Costa and Alameda Counties.
Ken approaches real estate as he does everything – with integrity, thoughtfulness and follow-through. Questions and services needed are answered quickly and thoroughly. He’s “the man” when it comes to handling real estate transactions.
Ken keeps it real. He is knowledgeable and will work with you, to find out what is important to you, when purchasing a home.
Ken is friendly, responsive and works hard for his clients! I highly recommend him for your housing needs.
Ken is a go getter and when he says he is going to do something he gets it done. He is not only trustworthy but someone who is family. I worked with Ken for 4 yrs and through that time I have seen his dedication and his work ethic has motivated me to follow suit.

Ken was very professional and also very personable to work with in the purchase of a home. He is thorough and available to answer all questions before during, and even after escrow.

Ken more than meets the fundamental characteristics needed in a real estate agent. He is empathetic and knows how to listen. He is patient while being transparent, honest and professional. He is passionate, communicative, confident and assertive when needed. Most importantly, he is trustworthy.
Ken made our real estate experience stress free from beginning to end. His attention and accessibility were beyond our expectations. Ken’s knowledge of the real estate process is only exceeded by his warm personality and genuine concern for your best interests. If you’re a friend of Ken’s you know what I mean. If you’re not yet a friend of his, you will be after your experience with him!
At ease. That’s how we felt when we first met Ken. Initially, we were uncertain and nervous about the whole house buying endeavor but with Ken’s genuine care, understanding, and knowledge, it made the entire process much easier from start to finish. We especially appreciate his prompt and efficient communication skills, which are essential during escrow. In addition, after finding out Ken was also a pastor and because of our deep admiration and respect for Ken, we asked him to officiate our wedding, which he gladly accepted!
